Privacy policy
Draft to be legally reviewed before going live.
In short
- The text you type in the keyboards and tools never leaves your browser.
- Voice dictation is optional: if you turn it on, your voice is handled by your browser’s speech recognition service, never by our site.
- Your preferences are stored on your device only.
- No account is needed: we never ask for your name, email address or a password.
- Cookie-based audience measurement and personalised advertising are turned on only with your consent.
Data controller
The data controller is eVisibility, [Raison sociale à compléter], [Adresse du siège à compléter], [RC / ICE à compléter]. Contact for any question about your data: contact@lawha.example.
The text you type
The virtual keyboards, transliteration, script conversions and other tools run entirely in your browser. Text that you type, paste or convert is not sent to, stored on or analysed by our servers.
When you choose to use a share button (WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, X, email, your phone’s share menu) or a search button (Google, YouTube, Wikipedia), the text is passed to the service you picked, under that service’s own terms.
Voice dictation, word lists and fonts
Voice dictation (optional). On keyboards whose language browsers can recognise, a microphone button lets you dictate instead of typing. It only appears if your browser supports speech recognition (Chrome, Edge, Safari; not Firefox). Before the first use, a notice explains how it works, and dictation only starts after you click “Turn on the microphone” and then accept your browser’s request for microphone access. Recognition is done by your browser’s service: unless the browser processes speech on the device itself, your voice is sent to the browser maker (Google for Chrome, Microsoft for Edge, Apple for Safari), which handles it under its own privacy policy. Our site receives neither the audio nor the dictated text, which goes straight into the text area.
Word lists and fonts. Word suggestions rely on lists of frequent words, and the font menu on font files. Both are downloaded from our own site, with no third-party service: a word list the first time you type on a keyboard that has one, and a font only when you choose it. These files are the same for every visitor, contain no personal data and carry nothing of what you type; like any page of the site, the downloads appear in the hosting provider’s logs. They are then kept in your browser’s cache, on your device, so that they also work offline.
Preferences stored on your device
So that you do not have to set everything up on each visit, the website saves the following in your browser’s local storage (localStorage): light or dark theme, last keyboard used, input mode, text size, chosen font, whether word suggestions are on, whether you have accepted the voice dictation notice, favourite keyboards and your best quiz score. This information stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can erase it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser settings.
Audience measurement
We use two tools to understand which pages are useful and to improve the website:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) sets cookies and collects browsing data (pages viewed, visit length, device and browser type, approximate country or region, referring site). It is turned on only with your consent.
- [Plausible ou Matomo — à confirmer], configured without cookies, produces aggregated statistics without identifying visitors or tracking them across websites.
Advertising
The website is free and funded by advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or identifiers to show ads, measure their performance and prevent fraud.
- Personalised ads are shown only with your consent. If you refuse, non-personalised or limited ads may be shown.
- For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, consent is collected through a Google-certified consent management platform compatible with the IAB TCF framework. For other visitors: [consent collection method to be confirmed].
To learn how Google uses data when you visit a partner website, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Hosting provider logs
As with any website, the hosting provider ([Hébergeur : Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, États-Unis — à confirmer]) keeps technical logs (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser) to keep the service secure and prevent abuse. Retention period: [to be confirmed according to the host’s policy].
Legal bases, recipients and transfers
- Cookie-based audience measurement and personalised advertising: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Cookieless audience measurement and security logs: our legitimate interest in running and protecting the website.
Data collected by these tools is processed by Google, by [Plausible ou Matomo — à confirmer] and by the hosting provider. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union, particularly in the United States; such transfers rely on [safeguards to be confirmed: EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses].
Retention period for audience measurement data: [to be confirmed].
Your rights
If the GDPR applies to you (European Union), you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority, which in France is the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
If you live in Morocco, Law No. 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data gives you, in particular, the right to information, access, rectification and objection. You can contact the National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection (CNDP).
To exercise your rights, write to contact@lawha.example. Because we do not run any user accounts, we may ask you for the details needed to locate data about you held by our service providers.
To change your cookie choices, use the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page; details are on the cookies page.
