With this Arabic keyboard for WhatsApp, write your message and send it to a chat, to Messenger or by email without adding a language to your phone. Used to typing Darija in Latin letters? The keyboard converts it to Arabic script as you go.

How to use

  1. Write your message with the on-screen Arabic keyboard, or in Latin letters using Words mode.
  2. Read it through and tap a suggestion to fix any word that converted wrongly.
  3. Tap Share, then WhatsApp, and pick the chat.
  4. For any other app, tap Copy and paste the message into its text field.

An Arabic keyboard for WhatsApp, no phone settings needed

Many phones only have an English or French keyboard, and adding Arabic means digging through the settings. Here, you write your Arabic message in the browser and then send it. It comes in handy for Eid greetings, a family invitation, an announcement in a group chat, or a message to someone who struggles to read Arabizi. For a longer text, you can write it comfortably on a computer, then copy it into WhatsApp Web or the desktop app.

Darija in Latin letters, converted to Arabic

In Words mode, type just as you do in your usual chats. labas, bezzaf, 3afak and mabrouk become لاباس, بزاف, عفاك and مبروك as soon as you press Space, and a seasonal greeting like ramadan karim turns into رمضان كريم. If a word can be spelled two ways, tap the suggestion you want. Choose the Morocco or Algeria-Tunisia variant so that g and 9 give the letters used in your region. Every mapping is explained on the phonetic Arabic keyboard page.

Share your message in one tap

The Share button opens WhatsApp or Messenger with your text filled in, offers email, or uses your phone’s built-in share sheet, which lists your other apps. For a status update, the PNG image button turns the message into a picture. Copy is always there for pasting anywhere else, and the character counter helps you keep things short.

On-screen keyboard or phone keyboard?

On mobile, the Arabic keyboard appears in place of your phone’s keyboard, with touch-friendly keys and a long press for variants such as أ or إ. The Phone keyboard button brings your usual keyboard back, which is handy for an emoji. To type Arabic on your computer as well, follow the Windows installation guide. Either way, your message is never sent to our servers.

Frequently asked questions

How do I send an Arabic message on WhatsApp without an Arabic keyboard?
Write the message on this page, then tap Share and choose WhatsApp. The app opens with your text ready, so all that's left is to pick the contact or group, with no change to your phone settings.
How do I turn a Darija message written in Latin letters into Arabic script?
Type it in Words mode: each word followed by Space switches to Arabic, so wakha becomes واخا. If the message is already written somewhere else, paste it into the Latin-to-Arabic converter, which handles the whole text at once.
How do I get my phone's keyboard back on this page?
Tap the Phone keyboard button. The on-screen Arabic keyboard steps aside and your usual keyboard opens in the text area.
Can I add emojis with this Arabic keyboard?
No, the on-screen keyboard only contains letters, numbers and punctuation. Add your emojis after pasting the text into WhatsApp, or switch to your phone keyboard for a moment to insert them.
Will the person I'm messaging see the Arabic correctly?
Yes. The keyboard produces standard Arabic text (Unicode), which WhatsApp, Messenger and social networks display as is. Only a few regional letters, such as ڭ or ڨ, may look slightly different depending on the receiving phone's font.
How do I send Arabic text as an image?
Tap PNG image: your text is turned into a picture, which you can send like any photo in a chat or post as a status.
